Sportieve ambities seizoen 2026-2027
Sportieve ambities seizoen 2026-2027
Looking back at our proposal for this season and reviewing what we have achieved over season 25/26 I am bursting with pride.
With the support of the committee, the coaching staff and the members we began our new vision.
Changing the club structurally, challenging the way our players think and striving to push KHCB to new heights.
After Year 1, I am pleased to inform our members we are very much travelling in the right direction. Tireless work from Marie-Astrid, Sofi, Domagoj and Alexandra who have all contributed towards the successes
Purely results based, we have had great successes outdoor and indoor throughout the ages ranging from u9 upwards. National Honour division teams, league wins, promotions/ playoffs and more to come as we enter the last phase of Season 25/26.
The Onderbouw section is the biggest we have ever had. Many of our youngest members finding their love for the game through training and playing games at weekends. Teams will continue to be formed via friendship with enjoyment and development at the heart of Onderbouw.
The same goes for our Middenbouw section, numbers and competition for places are the highest in KHCB history. For season 25/26 it was our mission to raise the importance of this category. We can see the development of all players in these age groups. The hunger and competitive spirit from our players in this category are met with more technical input from our senior coaches. Creating better all-round hockey players being our club’s goal.
Bovenbouw performance groups continue to push Brugge up the Belgian rankings. Indoor and Outdoor. All performance teams playoff for National Division spots. This is ahead of schedule and expectations.
The link between Performance teams and Dames/Heren 1 is stronger than ever with the Development squad players thriving in the first team environments.
Bovenbouw Development players continue to challenge the coaches’ selections. The results from some of our 2nd teams are very impressive. Competing with lots of surrounding club’s 1st teams. Compliments to our strength in depth.
Players and teams throughout the club are putting KHC Brugge on the map. National appearances, District selections and positive results bring attention from many different sources.
The winter selection changes can still be a challenging aspect for some. I believe we are seeing the benefits of this. Each player developing at different rates, we as a club need to embrace this and react upon it. I stand by this process and it is here to stay as we move into next season.
Spiideo, the video analysis platform, has been a top success. Teams receiving technical and tactical input with visual evidence helps the players understanding. Coaches spending many hours rewatching footage with the help from committed members tagging the games live, we thank you for this.
As you can see, we can look back with pride on Season 25/26 but we still have some progress ro make and some goals to achieve!
Season 26/27 is the start of a special period for our club. 100 years is some achievement. Our job is to leave the club in a better spot than when we arrived. As above shows we are going in the right direction but Season 26/27 will be the year to press on the accelerator
Preparations have been underway for many months. First step was to secure our wonderful coaching staff. I am pleased to announce that almost all our staff stay at KHCB for season 26/27. In my vision, consistency brings results.
Further developments with our indoor program to increase contact time is our goal. From u6 to u16, we would like to extend the training time they have for Season 26/27. We see that Indoor hockey is now an established element to the Belgian Hockey calendar and as a club we see the development of technical skills through the indoor season.
Our G-Hockey athletes will have some changes heading into the following season. We thank Emmanuelle Bernolet for her wonderful energy with the group over many seasons. We welcome Wout Schoonbaert who will take over after assisting with the team this season.
Season 26/27 will be about mastering our craft to build on this season. To push all members of KHCB to achieve more, even beyond what they think is possible.
Kindest regards
Matthew Bell
